Accountant Job Available at Tuzakumani Enterprises T/A The Big Green Box


We are looking for an accountant to join the administration team for our sister companies. The role is based in our Lusaka office and covers responsibilities for both The Big Green Box, a company which sells secure self- storage, and Shenton Safaris, a premium safari operator.  The candidate should be someone who is friendly, hardworking and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Accountant Job Duties will include:

  • Compiling and analyze account information by preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries.
  • Keeping financial transactions by entering account information in a and well-documented and systematic manner
  • Analyzing accounting options and recommend financial solutions
  • Preparing VAT, PAYE,NAPSA, WHT or any related tax assigned
  • Summarizing current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports.
  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintaining accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Secures financial information by completing database backups.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Preparing special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Maintaining customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential and accurate
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Accomplishing the result by performing the duty.
  • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

As duties to complement the other team members the candidate will:

  • Meet and greet clients and customers
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries via email, phone, and face-to-face
  • Receipt customer payments
  • Data entry of spreadsheets assigned
  • Provide customers with quotes and product knowledge
  • Receipt customer payments
  • Manage customer sales lead entries
  • Manage and update clients’ accounts and database
  • Manage customers with reminders and updates
  • Market the company products to generate new business
  • Support other departments when need be
  • Perform general administration and logistics tasks
  • Supervise support staff

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Accountancy
  • At least five years work experience in an accounting position
  • Mature, minimum 28 years of age
  • Lusaka resident

Drivers license is an added advantage
