BEMCONSULT has been given the mandate by one of its clients, a Regulator to assist in the identification and recruitment of highly qualified and competent professionals.

Reporting to the Board & The Honorary Secretary

Job Purpose

The CEO/Registrar is expected to oversee the administration of the day to day affairs of the Institute under the general supervision of the National Council and will effectively and efficiently manage the Secretariat affairs in general and the Secretariat staff in particular. In addition, the CEO/Registrar will in the best interest of the general membership manage the assets of the Institute.

Summary of Key Responsibilities;

  • Set up and direct the development and implementation of the strategic business plans, policies and operating guidelines designed to sustain and achieve growth with a realistic time frame in keeping with the Institute mission objectives;
  • Create and maintain a sustainable registration of all stakeholders. and ensure a good record-keeping and database.
  • Recruit and retain members and ensure that the membership upgrade system is effectively adhered to.
  • Ensure that the Institute’s budget is developed to provide financial and material resources required for the Institution’s functions in the most cost-effective manner for the National Council;
  • Market the Institute’s roles to the public, strengthen and reposition the Institute’s brand both locally and internationally for recognition and market development;
  • Implore a robust compliance and sensitization strategy for the Institute;
  • Organize Continuous Professional Development (CPD) workshops and mobilize required resources. Further, ensure that the CPDs are revised, from time to time, to respond to the period challenges in the transport, supply chain and logistics sector and further the profession;
  • Implement the Institute’s policies and operation guidelines in order to ensure that it grows and operates within the mandate given by the National Council;
  • Ensure that there is a production of the audited financial reports as provided by the Act;
  • Produce, consolidate and submit quarterly management reports to the National Council
  • Develop an Appraisal of Performance Management System for the staff to be approved by the National Council. Supervision and appraisal of the subordinates through a Performance Management System;
  • Undertake revenue-generating ventures approved by the National Council

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Business Administration/ Transport and Logistics or Equivalent
  • MBA will be an added advantage
  • Must have at least a minimum of 5 – 10 years’ progressive work experience of which 3 years must have been at Senior Management Level in the Logistics and Transport sector
  • Exposure to international operations will be an added advantage
  • Must be a member of both ZCILT and CILT UK
  • Must be Computer Literate
