The Grain and Oil seeds Supply Chain Mideast (GOSCMA) Business Unit (BU) has been operating in Zambia for the past nine years. Cargill Zambia runs the largest small holder farmer out-grower scheme in Zambia and is situated in the Eastern Province. We provide farmers with quality inputs and extension service on maize, cotton and soybeans Cargill also provides these farmers with a market for their product. Cargill Zambia operates two processing facilities in Chipata, namely: a cotton ginning operation and a maize mill.
The Lusaka office is the base for commodity trading and risk management. The recent acquisition of a soybean crush facility and bottling plant in Lusaka wilt enable Cargill to increase its commercial footprint arid add additional revenue streams to our already diverse business in Zambia.
Cargill’s footprint in Southern Africa is expected to grow further in the coming years as GOSCMA and other Cargill BU’s actively pursue business opportunities.
Position Overview:
To start, the CMT program the persons will be required to assist with general administration while learning first hand from the commercial leads in the business. While learning all aspects of the business execution of traders and assistance on out growing scheme projects,

Principal Accountabilities:

  • General commercial administration on contacts and position reporting
  •  Supply chain management: Execution of trades, logistical planning, invoicing and reconciliation;
  •  Research in applicable fields that impact the business;
  •  Supply and demand analysis per product and commodity;
  •  Profit and Loss understanding and calculation, as well as month end reconciliation.

Education and Experience:

  •  University degree in Agricultural Economics or Economics or Financial Management

Personal Skills:

  •  Ability to work under pressure
  •  Attention to detail and accuracy
  •  Good computer skills — outlook, excel, intranet and Internet, power point
  •  Good interpersonal and communication skills
  •  Responsible and accountable
  •  Work as part of a team
  •  Willing to travel
