KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. STRATEGY AND POLICY

Ensure that the departmental strategies are in line with the organisational strategies. Also, formulate and review HR policies and procedures for the department and the overall organisation. Advise line managers on HR policies implementation.

2. BUDGET AND FINANCE

Give an indication of requirements, costs and evaluate the performance. Provide key cost drivers for the department, the information which will then be consolidated into the final budget.

Manage costs elements like HR and Admin costs are within the budget.

3. OPERATIONAL

  • Developing and implementing human resources policies that support the business plan.
  • Coordinating the performance appraisal system such that stringent requirements for excellence are met and exceeded by all staff.
  • Ensure the efficient recruitment and selection of suitable and sufficient staff to meet vacancies identified by departmental management.
  • Driving the company remuneration strategy in line with company policy and industry trends, through research, salary surveys and retention strategies.
  • Advising management on all aspects of the human resource management and recommend desirable changes in policies, procedures and practices as and when necessary.
  • Advising management on interpretation and application of human resource rules and regulations and Government policies and/or statutes i.e. The Labour Act, NEC Statutory Instruments as and when required.
  • Provision of staff training and development in response to departmental training needs requirements.
  • Succession planning
  • Managing and promoting good industrial relations and staff counselling
  • To co-ordinate and comply with Quality Management System policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Identify and report (to relevant personnel) non-conformities, safety hazards and any other problems pertaining to the Quality Management System.
  • Monthly salaries processing
  • Time management and department.
  • Fleet management.
  • Asset management.
  • Any other duties assigned by immediate superior.

4. ADMINISTRATION

  • Ensuring that fleet is efficiently maintained and provides required resources to user departments on time.
  • Ensuring that insurance covers to movable, non-movable, marine, GIT, fidelity, etc) are available and monitor expiry dates and replace when due.
  • Ensure buying of company general and administration items is done per requirement and procedure.

5. SUPERVISION OF STAFF

  • Ensure that the subordinate staffs are carrying out the agreed day to day activities, ensuring that there are no duties outstanding and causing the accumulation of avoidable costs.

6. ASSETS

  • Monitoring maintenance of all company assets and ensuring that asset register is up-to-date.

7. SAFETY

  • Monitor proper implementation of company Health and Safety policy.

8. Statutory compliances

  • Ensure company complies with all relevant HR and Admin requirements. This includes availing of the relevant certificates.
  • Monitor certificates expire dates and ensure renewal is done before expiry.

9. Any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and management.
