Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc (Zanaco) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following job aimed at contributing to the Bank’s strategic vision, in the Commercial Division under the Product & Channels Department at Head Office:-

CUSTOMER VALUE PROPOSITION SENIOR SPECIALIST (X1)

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships, maximizing business levels, service and profit performance in commercial banking whilst maintaining the portfolio within acceptable risk levels. The role holder is also responsible for supporting the Commercial Banking in the development of business strategy and customer risk mitigation strategies.

Under the supervision of the Head Marketing, the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities:-

  • Identify potential new clients and turn this into increased business
  • Cold call as appropriate within your market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization and build relationships with new clients
  • Plan approaches and pitches, working with the team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
  • Participate in pricing the solution/service
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion
  • To support the growth of a portfolio of customers who maintain accounts with the Bank
  • Client Retention and Business Development Planning
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs
  • Identify churn in the business and provide appropriate solution for mitigation
  • Ensure synergy between Corporate, Treasury and Retail to ensure effective service provided to clients
  • Entertain clients so as to show our appreciation and conduct seminars to a target group of non-competing clients to discuss new products
  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships
  • To provide the Banks Products sales strategy and value proposition
  • To maintain close liaison with existing and potential customers with emphasis on identifying customer requirements, business opportunities and assisting in the establishing profitable solutions and relationships with these clients
  • Proactively spear head business development meetings and update on new developments regarding challenges, and opportunities existing in our business
  • Generate proposals to increase the value of Bank products through the identification of new products, potential alliances and service capabilities
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators
  • Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate
  • Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACT

  • External: Customer, third party service providers dealing, regulators
  • Internal: All Divisions

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 Credits Grade 12 Certificate including Mathematics and English
  • University Degree in Business Administrations, Sales or relevant subject
  • Diploma in Banking or Finance will be an added advantage
  • At least three (3) years proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role
  • Proven sales track record
  • Experience in customer support is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Market knowledge
