Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc (Zanaco) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following job aimed at contributing to the Bank’s strategic vision, in the Commercial Division under the Product & Channels Department at Head Office:-

DIGITAL INNOVATION SENIOR SPECIALIST (X1)

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for leading the creation of the Bank’s new ventures and business on digital to hedge the risk of disruption. The job holder will develop business cases and pitch decks for all proposed new businesses on wallets, payments, online loans or savings to project board. Planning the activities and milestones from concept to go to market of such ventures and direct execution for the department. Responsible for developing and commercialising innovative new digital businesses

Under the supervision of the Head Digital Innovation, the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities:-

  • Synthesising complex technology or operational issues into clear business decisions for management
  • Drive venture creation process, manage business development efforts, and lead project management function and monitoring of the portfolio of new businesses.
  • Lead specific strategy and operational work streams: support and advise business and product teams to create new business models, conduct opportunity assessments, and prepare investment appraisals for senior leadership approval and capex funding
  • Participate in strategy sessions, research distillation and technology assessments to form a coherent synthesis of the business opportunity and determine the ROI for the business case
  • Work closely with the Retail, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Audit, , Market Development, Corporate Development, Design, Marketing and Product teams to ensure successful implementation of new businesses
  • Improve and strengthen existing processes and communication between the stakeholders
  • Specific focus on products that reduce cost of delivering banking services to the unbanked

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 Credits Grade 12 Certificate including Mathematics and English
  • University Degree in relevant subject
  • Diploma in Banking or Finance will be an added advantage
  • At least five (5) years of strategy consulting, business operations, and/or start-up experience within digital, technology or financial services
  • strong knowledge of bank products and channels
  • Understanding product and channel market demands
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Proven superior analytical skills and attention to detail, including financial modeling
  • Experience of developing materials on short notice for an executive audience and synthesizing complex issues into clear business decisions
