BEMCONSULT has been given the mandate by one of its clients, a Regulator to assist in the identification and recruitment of highly qualified and competent professionals.

Reporting to the CEO/Registrar

Job Purpose

The Education and Membership Officer is expected to develop, implement and monitor key education plans, based on local priorities and a developmental agenda for the Professionals in Logistics and Transport. Maintain an efficient membership administration and guarantee a strong and engaged membership.

Summary of Key Responsibilities;

  • Support training providers on a range of issues to meet the requirements of legislation and the Institute’s policies on education, membership of students, accreditation of training providers and examination management.
  • Develop and implement membership recruitment strategies.
  • Develop and implement tools, channels and activities to ensure a smooth membership sign up and payment process as well as a firm membership engagement.
  • Be the main contact for all the institute’s members and prospective members of the Institute
  • Provide management information to training providers and general membership. Organizes feedback and follow-up consultations to ensure that members are well-informed through cost efficiency and system development measures.
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship amongst the Ministry, the general membership, co-operating partners, interest groups and training providers.
  • Propose and implement membership development strategies
  • Plan, implement and write reports of all education and membership activities for the financial year.
  • Collect, analyse and interpret data. Ensuring a sound financial, administrative and data base management.
  • Develop and implement a membership analysis system
  • Responsible for a smooth membership administration, sends out invoices, reminders, and follows up on payments.
  • Directly responsible for the prudent management of examinations for the students of the Institute’s programs.
  • Work hand in hand with the Examination Committee of the Council and under supervision of the Registrar & CEO, shall be responsible for ensuring that the Zambia Qualifications Authority and the Institute’s educational policies are adhered to by all examiners, students, markers and invigilators.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Education/Business or any related qualification with statistics
  • A qualification in Transport and Logistics will be an added advantage.
  • At least a minimum of 4 years’ work experience in Membership or Education Management.
  • Demonstrable experience in curriculum development and examination management.
  • Business Development Experience in the Logistics and Transport sector will be an added advantage.
  • An understanding of the Zambian and/or international operations and regulations will be a distinct added advantage.
  • Must have proven experience of Being Customer-Centric
  • Must be a member of the Teaching Council but membership with either ZCILT and CILT UK will be an added advantage.
  • Must be computer literate and must know excel
