Expanded Church Response (ECR) is a faith-based organization implementing ovc, GBV, HIV/AIDS, and other programs to mitigate human suffering and bring transformational development.
ECR has implemented programs funded by USAID, European Union, UNICEF and Global Fund either directly or through a range of highly regarded local and international organizations. Working with partners like these, the private sector, and government, we are seeing Communities awakened to new ways to improve quality of life for the most vulnerable, and rise up to be the key to their own transformation.
ECR is seeking highly qualified, purpose driven candidates with a passion for the vulnerable and awakening potential in others, to fill in the positions below for a 5-year USAID project -ZAMBIA FAMILY (ZAMFAM);

Assistant Grants Accountant

Key responsibilities

Preparing of Journal Vouchers, Deposit Vouchers and ensuring; timely uploading of financial transactions into the accounting system; ensuring complete documentation of all vouchers raised by the Accounts Assistant before uploading financial: information to the accounting package; preparing of bank reconciliations; per-forming balance sheet account reconciliations as requested by the Grants Accountant ensuring timely disbursement of funds to district offices and timely submission of retirement by district staff. The AGAs will also assist the Grants Accountant in ensuring efficient and economical management of financial resources by distribute Sub recipients (SRs). This will involve conducting SR assessment and monitoring of funds disbursed to SRs to ensure proper accountability of resources in time with donor requirements and ECR policies and procedures as well as ensuring timely reporting by SRs.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Expertise

• Degree in Accounting or ZICA/NATECH/Diploma in accounting and part time ACCA/CIMA
• At least 2 years’ experience in Grants management, experience in USAID/EU grants will be an added advantage
• A grants management trainer
• Be able to travel within Zambia
• Proficient with Excel, Word, QuickBooks accounting package
• Good written and verbal English communication
• Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
