Responsibilities

  • This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn parts on Heavy equipment under the guidance of an Artisan
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges
  • Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment, and keep equipment service records
  • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • HER Craft Certificate
  • Two years’ working experience on Cat, Volvo, Komatsu and Bell machines in a Mining environment working as a serviceman and or an artisan
  • Valid Class C Drivers’ License with a minimum 2 years Driving Experience Essential
  • EIZ Membership is desirable
