The Position

The company seeks to employ a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic professional for the position of Human Resources Manager, reporting to the General Manager, based in Solwezi.

Job Purpose

The Human Resource Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and operation of human resources activities in Educore and the human resources team at head office. The Human Resources Manager directs and advises management on polices, action recommendations and practices to support the companies’ strategic success.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop the requisite Human Resources strategies that support the achievement of the Edcuore business plan
  • Deliver performance management programs that drive a high performance culture.
  • Direct and manage the recruitment and selection process, and train line managers in interviewing and assessment procedures in order to retain and meet the future talent needs of Educore.
  • Implement indiviaul learning plans and monitor effectiveness of training programs for all staff in liasion with thier line managers.
  • Develop, implement and maintain human resources policies across the organisation, and inform management on all regulatory compliance.
  • Produce reports on key metrics, including remuneration and benefits, absenteeism and turnover to enable deployement optimization of the company’s human resources.
  • Mentor direct reports and line functionaires to help them reach their potential.
  • Develop and implement the appropriate compensation and benefits strategies that are cost effective to the organization and also ensure talent retention.
  • Faciliate the maintenance of a harmoniuos industrial relations climate that supports the implementation of the Educore business strategy
  • Ensure the development and implementation of worldclass Human Resoruces administration processes that support the achivement of the company’s business strategy.

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Qualities

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration from a recognised University
  • Professional Human Resources qualification
  • Should be registered member of Zambia Institute of Human Resources with a valid practicing certificate
  • At least 5 years relevant professional experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Hands on experience with Human Resoures Management Information systems
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with the ability to prioritize, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Practical experience in developing and implementing greenfield Human Resources Management systems and procesess will be an added advantage
  • Generalist experience in the areas of Talent Management, Performance Management, HR Operations, Compensation and Benefits Management, Industrial Relations and HR business partnership.
  • Expatriate management experience
  • Proven qualities of integrity, credibility and decision making capabilities
  • Experience in the Education sector is an added advantage
