ICT Support Officer Needed at The University Of Zambia

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions in the University of Zambia

Purpose: Responsible for designing and implementation of systems to ensure the smooth operation of the user of ICT equipment in the Institute of Distance Education.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning proper systems that will provide efficiency in day to day support operations.
  • Carrying out user ICT equipment upgrades and maintenance.
  • Carrying out field operations to ascertain user needs and requirements.
  • Carrying out network installations and network segment expansions.
  • Keeping an inventory of all ICT equipment.
  • Conducting user training in order to impart ICT skill to the users for efficient use of ICT equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 School Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an ICT field.
  • A+ certification and /or CCNA is a must.
  • At least two (2) years’ relevant experience.
  • Must have good knowledge of Microsoft windows/servers and Linus operating system.
  • Networking background and ITIL certification would be an added advantage.
