Job Title: Intern – Human Resources (HR)
Location : Lusaka, ZAMBIA

Background
Under the guidance and overall supervision of the Deputy Country Director (Operations), and under direct supervision of the Human Resources Associate, the Human Resources intern will be required to perform various clerical tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform general administrative tasks in HR under the supervision of the Human Resource Associate;
  • Support the unit in the recruitment process with reviewing Terms of Reference (TORs), preparing advertisements, screening applicants, contacting candidates and other clerical duties during evaluation and selection of candidates, as well as supporting with drafting interview reports;
  • Assist in procurement of services such as advertising through soliciting quotations and processing invoices for payment;
  • Collating, Compiling and filing data from various Sources for updating monthly attendance records;
  • Collection of background information/documents and preparations of files for submissions to the Compliance Review (CRP) Committee and other committees/panels;
  • Preparation of routine correspondence, memorandum and reports in accordance with UNDP guidelines;
  • Support in sorting and labelling files in the archives, ensuring documents are secured and properly filed;
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
  • Currently enrolled in the University, or just completed a Degree Programme in Human Resource Administration.
Experience:
  • Certification in Human Resource Administration;
  • No work experience is required.
Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in all MS Office packages.
Language: Strong written and spoken English.
Conditions:
  • UNDP internship programme does not provide a salary or remuneration for the internship;
  • All the expenses connected with the internship will be borne by the intern, sponsoring Government or institution;
  • UNDP accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness or death incurred during the internship;
  • The intern is responsible for obtaining necessary visas and arranging travel to and from the duty station where the internship will be performed;
  • Interns are not eligible to apply for, or be appointed to, any post in UNDP during the period of the internship or for six months immediately following the expiration date of internship;
  • The intern must provide proof of enrollment in health insurance plan;
  • Interns are not staff members and may not represent UNDP in any official capacity.
