Statistics Officer RTSA5 (1 Position)
Purpose of the job
Reporting to the Head Statistics & Research the incumbent will be responsible for researching, collecting, analyzing and reporting statistics on road transport and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts statistical studies using established procedures including data support, data analysis, sample selection, universe estimates and research projects.
Prepares estimates, forecasts, and projections on a needs basis.
Produces periodic statistical bulletins (e.g. on road users, casualties, accidents, transport trends, vehicle licensing etc.).
Writes and disseminates reports and briefing notes.
Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
Requirements
At least two years experience in statistical analysis
Postgraduate degree in Statistics or Mathematics
Familiarity with statistical software and database packages
At least 30 years of age
Education Officer RTSA6 (2 Positions)
Purpose of the Job
Reporting to the Head Statistics & Research the incumbent will be responsible for the effective education and communication of Road Safety information to all stakeholders including RTSA Staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Principal Education Officer to Conduct road safety media publicity;
Assist Principle & Education Officer to Conduct road safety community awareness publicity;
Assists the Principal Education Officer to design and produces information, education and communication material for publicity activities;
Maintain mutual understanding and develop contacts with road safety stakeholders;
Prepares activity reports on Education activities;
Generates positive media publicity on road safety issues;
Performs any other duty as may be assigned from time to time by the Principal
Education Officer.
Requirements
University Degree in Education
Two years of relevant work experience
At least 27 years of age.
Examiner RTSA7 (13 Positions Outside Lusaka)
The job is on permanent and pensionable basis and the job holder will be reporting to the Assistant Station Manager, and following laid down procedures, the job holder will be responsible for the following;
Duties and responsibilities
To examine drivers for the purpose of issuance of driving licenses;
To examine motor vehicles and trailers for the purpose of issuance of roadworthiness certification;
To carry out Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs) investigations;
Carries out road traffic law enforcement patrols including those done in liaison with the Zambia Police;
To carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
Diploma or Craft Certificate in Automotive Engineering or related field
2 -3 years work experience,
Aged between 25 and 35 years.
Enforcement Officer RTSA7 ( 8 Positions Outside Lusaka)
The job is on permanent and pensionable basis and the job holder will be reporting to the Station Manager, and following laid down procedures, the job holder will be responsible for the following;
Duties and responsibilities
Attend court cases as state witness in cases involving infringement of road traffic laws and regulations to ensure prosecution of culprits;
Prepares monthly activity reports for the station for the information of the Senior Road Traffic Inspector;
Ensures effective utilization of Road Transport Information System for enforcement activities;
Monitors work in progress and ensures effectiveness and efficiency of the section;
Ensures effective and efficient use of all enforcement equipment, including vehicles;
Carries out road traffic law enforcement patrols including those done in liaison with the Zambia Police;
Prosecutes traffic offenders;
Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Senior Road Traffic Inspectors.
Requirements
a. Diploma in Law or CILT
b. 2 -3 years work experience,
c. At least 27 years of age.
ICT Officer RTSA7 ( 2 Positions Outside Lusaka)
The job is on permanent and pensionable basis and the job holder will be reporting to the Station Manager, and following laid down procedures, the job holder will be responsible for the following;
Duties and responsibilities
Evaluate user needs and system functionality and ensures that ICT facilities meet these needs.
Plans develop and implements the ICT budget, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers where appropriate, to ensure cost effectiveness.
Researchers and installs new systems.
Ensures the smooth running of all ICT systems including anti-viruses software, print services, and email provisions.
Ensures that software licensing laws are adhered to.
Provide secure access to the network for remote users.
Ensures the security of data from internal and external attack
Provide users with appropriate support and advice
Manages crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software.
Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Systems Administrator.
Requirements
a. Diploma in IMIS
b. 2 -3 years work experience,
c. At least 27 years of age.
