CARE Zambia is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sales Manager to work with the social business, Live Well. The goal of Live Well is to increase access to affordable health products and services for low-income consumers in Zambia’s peri-urban and rural communities while improving the incomes of Zambia’s poor.
This is a fixed term contract ending in Q1 2017 with the possibility of extending.  The position is to be based in Lusaka and will require travel within Zambia.  This is a tremendous opportunity to build an operation that has the potential to dramatically improve the health and livelihoods of low income Zambians.

JOB SUMMARY
The social business is in its start-up phase which is a great opportunity for someone to help build the foundation of what we expect to be a successful enterprise. The Sales Manager will be a member of a small team, reporting to an Executive Director but will receive support from CARE International and our partners Barclays Bank and GSK.
SPECIFIC DELIVERABLES
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy for the business.
  • Recruit, manage and lead a team of Field Coordinators who interface directly with agents.
  • Constantly test new ideas, track results, and monitor performance in order to hit sales and impact targets.
  • Own all training activities, including delivery and on-going updates to curriculum.
  • Manage the supply chain from warehouse locations to sales agents in peri-urban and rural markets.
  • Manage a product consignment process for sales agents.
Essential experience, capabilities and qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will have 5 years of relevant experience in managing and leading sales teams in Zambia;
  • Experience developing and conducting impactful training, ideally on consumer products;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage inventory and logistics within Zambia;
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Proactive and entrepreneurial individual who isn’t afraid to support other aspects of operations when needed;
  • Passion for enacting social change.
