The Underground Manager-Production will be responsible for providing practical, technical, administrative and budgetary support to ensure that the mine achieves production on long hole targets as per the business plan. The Manager will also ensure compliance to all statutory requirements/regulations in all aspects of the mine and promote a safety culture in various operations with the view of enhancing safe and correct usage of the equipment and increase productivity of the mine. The Underground Manager- Production will also oversee the provisioning of training to potential KCM employees. The incumbent will report to the Mine Manager.
Job Title: Underground Manager – Long Hole Production
The successful candidate will be required to:
To ensure all control measures to achieve Business Plan grades and tonnage are implemented in good time and with the required skilled labour force.
To ensure Safety Health Environment & Quality (SHEQ) of all resources in the mining department (Labour and Equipment)
To ensure that all operations in mining department are economical by interacting with Geology, Planning, Survey and Ventilation departments in order to optimize both labour and material resources.
To ensure that all required resources (labour and equipment) are sourced in time and is of acceptable standards.
To ensure that all justifiable job positions in the department are filled in by qualified and skilled manpower.
To ensure operations are within the annual IBU budgets.
To ensure expenditure within the budgetary limit and targets are achieved in line with the Annual Business Plan.
Requirements:
Minimum requirement : Mine mangers certificate of competency / Mine overseers certificate of competency, having a Bachelor of Mineral Sciences/BEng Mining/B tech diploma would be a advantage.
Minimum of 20 years underground mining experience.
Strong analytical ability, good interpersonal skills.
Computer literate in use of Mine Design Software, spreadsheets and database software packages would be an advantage.
Sober, Honest and Sincere in character with highest level of Integrity.
Proficient in Pronto or other ERP Systems.
Member of the Professional Body in MIning Domain.
