Lab Scientist Needed In Zambia: MaryBegg Community Clinic
The lab scientist will be responsible for the overall management of the laboratory and will coordinate the day to day activities of the laboratory and staff. She/he reports on the status and functioning of the laboratories. She/he will keep up to date with developments in standards and legislation and advises the service of the implications of any changes. He or she in addition will oversee the overall quality of medical laboratories at Mary Begg to achieve continuous improvement based on the quality management of patient results by ensuring;
DUTIES:
- Daily check lists of equipment is filled out appropriately and filed and reported
- Daily controls are done on in house tests and documented
- Monitoring of stock controls
- Oversee and ensure training of laboratory staff
- Oversee laboratory orders
- Oversee the internal and external quality control programs
- Puts up and monitors all quality improvement of laboratory personal i.e. training
- Performance evaluation of laboratory staff and recruitment
- Responsible for monitoring external laboratory service providers
- Oversees the proper maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Adherer’s to local governing authorities requirements e.g HPCZ
- Produce Daily/Weekly and Monthly reports
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
- Relevant qualifications and registrations
- 4 years’ experience is key
- Detail oriented
- Strong customer service skills
