Position Summary:
Winrock International is recruiting a Land Tenure and Biodiversity Conservation Specialist to support upcoming proposal opportunities in the land tenure sector. We anticipate a variety of opportunities in locations around the world and are seeking to build a roster of qualified candidates for future opportunities.
Qualifications & Background:
The candidate will offer expertise in biodiversity conservation and multiple approaches to address land tenure issues as they relate to biodiversity conservation. The candidate will have relevant experience in natural resource management and the land and policy challenges that impact natural resources. Candidates will demonstrate a strong understanding of wildlife management, land management and the land tenure issues these sectors address.
Education:
  • Completion of a Master’s Degree in any of a wide range of disciplines including biology, geography, forestry, law, policy or ecology.
Experience:
  • Minimum five years of progressively responsible, professional-level experience in environmental management of USAID environmental projects. This can include a combination of academic, research, and fulltime positions.
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated experience working independently
  • Ability to plan, implement and monitor project activities
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of counterparts
    representing different education levels and skill sets
  • Experience preparing written reports using standard computer programs in the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Fluency in English
