Qualifications
- Full grade 12 certificate
- Certificate in medical laboratory technology with full registration as a technologist with the Medical Council of Zambia
- Three years of clinical laboratory experience in two or more disciplines including microbiology, operation of automated chemistry, hematology and CD4 testing systems is required
- Level IV (fluent) English is required (This will be tested.)
- Basic computer skills, word processing; use of office equipment such as copiers, calculators, fax machines, overhead projectors and LCD’s
- Knowledge in microbiology, mycobacteriology AFB smears microscopy; automated hematology, chemistry and CD4 testing, blood banking,serology, rapid HIV testing and basic principles in TB smear microscopy, blood safety, chemical and fire safety is required
- Laboratory skills including pipetting, use of weigh balances and general laboratory equipment
