It Is Part Of The Industry Leading Lancet Group Of Laboratories, Founded Over 60 Years Ago In South Africa, And Now Operating In More Than 14 Countries Across Africa. Lancet-Nkanza Is The Largest Private Laboratory Service In Zambia And Has Its Head Office In Lusaka, The Capital City, Across From The Levy Mall. The Laboratory Is Housed In The City Medical And Diagnostic Centre The First Of Its Kind In Zambia Which Also Houses A Radiology And Imaging Centre, A Fertility Centre And Has Specialist Consulting Rooms. All Specialties Are Represented. There Are Also Branch Offices In Ndola And Chipata. It Numbers Amongst Its Clients, Patients And Their Doctors, Other Laboratories, Clinics, Hospitals, Corporate Groups, Insurances, Research And Occupational Health Establishments. To Them We Provide Directly A Range Of Routine, Specialized And Referral Service, That Are Amongst The Most Extensive Offered On The Continent. Lancet Laboratories is looking to employ the following positions:

Responsibilities

  • Performs, diagnostic testing procedures, reviews and verifies results and interacts with pathologists on technical matters to provide all relevant data that may pertain to the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of diseases
  • Operates, maintains and calibrates the equipment used in the laboratory to ensure that it is operating efficiently and providing accurate results
  • Implements sound housekeeping procedures and work effectively with others as a member of a team to ensure a safe working environment in accordance with safety protocols
  • Reports incidents, including instrument failures, problem solutions and reads documents and actions tasks on the laboratory information management system in compliance with relevant organisational policy

Qualifications

  • National Diploma in Biomedical Technology
  • Must be registered with the HPCSA and qualified in Clinical Pathology
  • Two years relevant working experience
  • Knowledge of good laboratory practice and QA/QC is essential
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be able to make decisions and implement them
  • Absolute attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Must be professional and have a sense of urgency towards work
  • Planning and organising skills and self-management
