The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialized United Nations agency dedicated to eradicating rural poverty and hunger. It does so by investing in rural people. IFAD finances programmes and projects that increase agricultural productivity and raise rural incomes, and advocates at the local, national and international level for policies that contribute to rural transformation.
IFAD is looking for seasoned professionals with strategic vision, a solid team orientation, proven capacity to generate results, and a deep understanding of and commitment to development. IFAD is currently seeking to recruit for executive and senior positions:
• Chief Financial Officer and Chief Controller, Assistant Secretary-General (ASG-level)

An accomplished professional who provides intellectual leadership and has overall control of the delivery of financial services. As a Member of the Executive Management, s/he is the chief financial spokesperson for the Fund who is accountable for IFAD’s sustainability in the delivery of services related to financial matters, risk management and internal control.
• General Counsel, Office of the General Counsel, grade D-2
An expert in legal affairs related to financial institutions operating in development. S/he is IFAD’s legal adviser to the institution on all aspects of IFAD’s operations and mandate, as well as all issues of administrative, institutional or other law as they may affect the institution and its mandate.
• Secretary of IFAD, Office of the Secretary, grade D-1/D-2
A proficient leader in diplomatic and protocol matters with recognized management skills. S/he is leading the effective and efficient organization of IFAD’s governing body meetings as well as establishing, building and effectively maintaining relations with IFAD’s Member States and its Representatives to the governing bodies.
• Director Ethics, Ethics Office, grade D-1
A senior professional with direct experience in managing or working in an Ethics function. S/he is responsible for promoting and upholding the highest standards of the organization, its code of conduct and core values to foster a harmonious and productive work environment at IFAD headquarters and in decentralized offices.
