Description
Reports to Data Coordinator. The incumbent is responsible for working with clinic based Data Associates to enter all data relating to patient encounters, including clinical visits, lab results and home-based follow up and support. The Data Associate is an essential member of the clinical team and helps provide information to clinic staff to improve quality of care.

Responsibilities

  • Enters all patient interaction data in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Provides timely feedback to clinical staff about missing, incomplete or unclear information on patient files
  • Ensures all information is entered by periodically checking patient list against register
  • Produces various reports on a daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc basis, including late patient lists and clinic enrolment updates
  • Responds to data quality control queries from CIDRZ data coordinators as needed in a timely fashion
  • Works with home based care and missed follow up teams to help identify patients who still need to be followed up
  • Assist in the development of software by providing feedback for improvements in new versions and assisting in testing new versions of the software
  • Observes utmost confidentiality of clients

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Certificate in Computer Sciences/IMIS with two years data entry experience or Diploma holder direct entry
  • Analytical and attention to detail
  • Ability to work within deadlines and be a team player
  • Honest, reliable and trust worthy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
