Job Title: Field Production Officer

Responsibilities

  • The Field Production Officer will report to the Seed Inspector and will be responsible for carrying out field inspections of crops and provide advice to farmers to ensure quality and production metrics are met
  • Field Inspections
  • To ensure that production of high quality seed that is true to variety is achieved by making sure that the following is done
  • Crops should be inspected at each growth stage
  • Time and Distance Isolation is maintained
  • Male-Female ration in the case of hybrids is within standards
  • Crop is planted with the registered and approved hectares
  • Submit field reports to SCCI on time
  • The officer should always refer to the current Seed ACT and Regulations
  • Processing and Storage Sheds Inspection
  • Make sure that all the Processing and storage sheds are operating on current licenses from SCCI
    Sampling
  • Make sure that all seeds are sampled and tested before being offered for sale
  • The sampling should be done in line with the Seed ACT and the regulation from government through SCCI
    Seed Crop registration
  • The officer will ensure that all Seed crop been grown are registered with SCCI according to the Seed Act and Regulation
  • Any other duties as directed by management within Production &Supply
  • Management may ask you to assist other sections with in P&S depending on season and workforce

Qualifications

  • Experience required
  • One year experience in the Agro-Chemical industry
  • SCCI certification preferred but not essential
  • Critical knowledge
  • Agro-Chemical educational background
  • English language command
