Programme Assistant Job at Afya Mzuri


Afya Mzuri, which means “Good health” in Swahili, is a local Zambian NGO specialising in the implementation of HIV prevention and wellness programmes in workplaces and their host communities across Zambia. It was started in 2000. The head office is in Lusaka, with a satellite office in Kitwe and Choma. A resource centre provides the latest information, including videos, on HIV/AIDS for members; in addition, a proposal was being circulated for an information, education and communication materials element covering printed material and videos in related areas where none are currently existing.
Responsibilities
  • Work closely  with the Programme Officer – Northern Region, Administrative Officer and the entire team on Cecily’s Fund (CF) programme
  • Contribute towards the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programme activities of the Cecily’s Fund supported OVC Educational care and support programme in Kitwework closely with communities, schools, partners on specific OVC related- activities and to conduct awareness and sensitisation sessions on the programme objectives
  • Providing programme support to Programme Officer, Northern Region to achieve the intended goal of the programme
Qualifications
  • Certificate in Social Work or a relevant field discipline from a reputable institution
  • Highly motivated team player with acute attention to detail, a strong ability to multi-task and work with people at all levels
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office (Word, Access, PowerPoint and Excel) and excellent skills in report writing
  • Excellent communication and human relations skills
