Regional Manager needed at Society for Family Health (Choma)


Society for Family Health is a Zambian non-profit Company Limited by Guarantee affiliated with Population Services International (PSI). SFH has, since its establishment in 1992, worked to improve lives of vulnerable Zambians. SFH activities include implementation locally relevant programs in Maternal and Child Health, Malaria, and HIV prevention in the public sector and private sector using social marketing strategies.A Board of Directors consisting of majority Zambian Board members governs SFH. The Board chair Mrs. Mable Mungomba is the former Director General ofthe Citizen Empowerment Commission of Zambia and a Fellow and past president of the Zambia Institute of Marketing. Through its affiliation with PSI, SFH is part of a network of 67 PSI network affiliation members that adhere to agreed international minimum standards ofprogram operations and implementation and are able to participate in multi country collaborations as well as cross pollinate best practices. SFH through this affiliation uses and enterprise resource planning software called Lawson to manage over $80 million the organization has received over the last 5 years to implement health programs.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will lead the Regional Team by providing clarity of vision and prioritization of activities and resources; facilitate alignment of the Team by setting expectations, inspiring commitment and support to ensure staff are motivated towards achieving Regional objectives
  • Leading the execution of activities across Society for Family Health’s (SFH) program areas in order to maximize health impact and resource utilization and to ensure delivery of quality health services in line with national health policies and established deliverables
  • Representing SFH at Regional level meeting with government officials and other stakeholders in order to foster collaborative relationships and to uphold a favorable image of SFH in the Region
  • Developing required work plans and ensure implementation in compliance with SFH rules and regulations
  • Preparing and tracking budgets to ensure burn rates are within the set parameters
  • Producing monthly reports on program implementation and expenditure
  • Overseeing the implementation of communication, promotional activities in line with SFH communication strategies
  • Providing oversight in the management of warehouse operations in the region to ensure compliance with SFH warehousing regulations and standards
  • Setting clear and measurable objectives for the Region and monitoring performance to ensure achievement of set targets
  • Overseeing the coordination of a sustainable supply chain management system to ensure supplies, consumables and equipment are available for smooth operations
  • Overseeing development of action plans aimed at achieving sales & marketing targets
  • Providing oversight to Regional level fleet utilization and maintenance
  • Conducting staff performance appraisals, identifying performance gaps and drawing up staff development plans in order to improve performance

Qualifications

  • Degree in Clinical Medicine or equivalent
  • Five years’ experiencein management of Health related projects
  • Proven track record of increasing responsibility to oversee all aspects of donor-funded projects, including financial, human resource, compliance, and quality assurance components
  • Ability to travel locally and internationally
