As a result of Syngenta’s recent acquisition of MRI Seed, we have the following vacancy located in Lusaka, on the farms in Chongwe District,

Trialing/NSPP Technician

Main responsibilities

  • Direct technical support to trialing on and off site.
  • Support data collection, data entry and data quality check.
  • Contribute to monitor and ensure success rate of trials and trial seed production
  • Monitor and execute external trials at institute or on private farms if needed.
  • Timely trial execution and data delivery.
  • Reporting of trial results. Also observations/results not specified in the protocol.
  • Biological Assessment Team general support (inventory and stock maintenance, quality documents archive etc)

Qualifications, Experience & Skills required

  • Degree in agriculture with major in agronomy.
  • Minimum experience two years in agriculture related field.
  • Good knowledge of agronomy, seeds,pests and diseases.
  • Basic understanding of trialing and experiment principles and execution.
  • Basic understanding of farm management, crop protection, fertilization and irrigation scheduling.
  • Good computer literacy (Microsoft office package Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Strong result orientated and strong sense of deadlines.
  • Identify opportunities of improvement, recognize threats and quickly react
  • Team working attitude, collaboration across boundaries and pro activity
  • Good report writing skills, inventory and archiving maintenance
  • Fluent in English.
