Teachers Needed at International School of Lusaka (5 Positions)


ISL is looking to recruit talented and enthusiastic teachers in a variety of subjects. Teachers are responsible for planning and delivering high quality lessons with the aims of achieving excellent results and instilling students with curiosity and a desire to learn about the particular subject.
ISL has the following vacancies for the 2017-18 school year, to start in August 2017:
High School Physics Teacher: The ideal candidate would have experience in both the IGCSE and IBDP Physics curricula. All teachers are expected to have a strong background in organising and overseeing practical/lab work is essential.

Responsibilities
High School Biology or Chemistry Teacher:

  • The ideal candidate would have experience in teaching both Biology and Chemistry in the IGCSE programme
    Further experience in the IBDP would be a definite advantage
  • A strong background in organising and overseeing practical or lab work is essential. Some general Science teaching in the Middle School may also be part of this role

High School English Teacher:

  • Candidates will be expected to help inspire enthusiasm and a love of English language and literature in the students, and help maintain the standards of a highly successful English programme
  • Teaching experience in the IGCSE and IBDP curricula would be an advantage

Secondary School Spanish Teacher:

  • Candidates will be expected to help inspire enthusiasm and a love of in the students, and help maintain the standards of a highly successful Modern Languages programme
  • Teaching experience in the IGCSE and IBDP curricula would be an advantage
  • Candidates who are able to teach French at the Middle school level would also be given preference
  • Secondary Economics & Business Management Teacher: Candidates will be expected to help inspire enthusiasm and an understanding of Economics and Business Management in students. Teaching experience in the IGCSE and IBDP curricula would be an advantage
  • A strong background in organising and overseeing case study and portfolio work is essential

Learning Support/Special Needs Teacher:

  • An experienced and qualified teacher, possibly with an interest in working as the Head of the Student Services department for the whole school (Primary & Secondary)
