Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc (Zanaco) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following job aimed at contributing to the Bank’s strategic vision, in the Commercial Division under the Product & Channels Department at Head Office:-

TRANSACTION PRODUCT SENIOR SPECIALIST (X1)

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for leading the Transactional Products and Services team and for driving the department’s Transactional Products and Services development and management agenda under the supervision of the Head Product Management.

Under the supervision of the Head Digital Innovation, the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities:-

  • Implement the Transactional Products and Services strategy
  • Implementation, development and monitoring of Transactional Products and Services
  • Measure profitability of the Transactional Products and Services
  • Provide ways of how the Bank can cross sell Transactional Products and Services through existing channels
  • Identifying market requirements for current and future Transactional Products and Services in liaison with stakeholder departments
  • Introduce and manage standard tools for Transactional Products and Services development and campaign management
  • Co-develop internal procedures and processes for all Transactional Products and Services
  • Manage the existing Transactional Products and Services
  • Develop activation, usage and balance build programs
  • Managing the entire Transactional Products and Services portfolio life cycle from new product development to review and monitoring
  • Develop and manage a Transactional Products and Services go-to-market plan
  • Maximizing business value from Transactional Products and Services and optimizing to achieve the business goals while maximizing return on investment
  • Recommend new products and services and develop existing products and services to decommission based on customer needs analysis and performance reviews
  • Under the supervision of the Head Products management translate business needs into requirements, drive consensus, including developing Transactional Products and Services success metrics
  • Identifying and conducting interactions with external stakeholders and key opinion formers
  • Attending key Transactional Products and Services events and keeping abreast of all relevant competitor activities and report findings
  • Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to ensure the successful adoption of new Transactional Products and Services features and functionality
  • Work with sales, marketing, channels and innovation teams to identify and understand needs and opportunities
  • Coordinate market research, monitor competitors and analyze customer needs
  • Provide input in campaigns and activities run by marketing for Bank segment to increase Transactional Products and Services utilisation and profitability.

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACT

  • External: Customer, third party service providers dealing with Transactional Products and Services development and similar engagements
  • Internal: All Divisions

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 Credits Grade 12 Certificate including Mathematics and English
  • University Degree in relevant subject
  • Diploma in Banking or Finance will be an added advantage
  • At least five (5) years banking experience
  • Experience in designing, executing and managing Personal Banking strategies and campaigns
  • Strong knowledge of bank products and channels and market demands
  • Understanding of product and channel market demands
  • Knowledge of the local market, customers and competitors
  • Proven ability to work with a larger cross-functional team
  • Experience in financial services
  • Familiarity with international best practices and global trends in the sector
  • Technical knowledge in business finance tools, products and methodologies
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory issues typical for country banking system
  • Knowledge and analytical skills, ability to understand main aspects of a financial institution’s operations
