Job Title:  Health Care Provider (HCP) x 01

Main Purpose of the Job:

To be responsible for providing biomedical and Social Behavioural Change Communication (SBCC) services that are in line with ZHECT’s overall program objectives in accordance with the national set standards in order to help reduce HIV incidence in areas of operation.

Key Accountabilities of the Job:

The Health Care Provider (HCPs) will work in conjunction with Outreach Workers and Volunteers (Peer Promoters and Lay Counselors) to ensure that;

  • The project biomedical services such as Counseling &Testing (CT) are highly promoted to attract more people from the Key Population to access them.
  • CT services are provided to all target clients and ensure that the clients receive same day-service and refer those testing positive for continuum of care in accordance with the developed mechanisms for referral to hospitals, clinics and other service providers.
  • They follow up clients refereed for continuum of care to ensure that they access the services they were refereed for.
  • To conduct STI screening and treatment for Key Populations, their clients and partners as part of the HIV prevention activities.
  • To conduct behaviour risky vulnerability assessments on all clients who turn up for services and ensure they are counselled and managed /or referred appropropriately to other relevant service providers where necessary to ensure risky behaviours are minimized considerably.
  • To help the site leadership team plan and implement a sustainable supply chain management system so as to ensure that all supplies and consumables including equipment are in place at all times.
  • To maintain a proper data management system in order to ensure that client records are secured as well as confidentiality is upheld for clients information.
  • To compile monthly reports for activities performed/to be performed for submission to the Service Delivery Officers

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Clinical Medical sciences (and/or Nursing) or its equivalent.
  • Valid practicing licence from Health Professions Council or Nursing Council of Zambia

Work Experience:

  • At least 3 years experience working with key/high risk populations, relevant experience in the desired field is highly preferable.
