Zambia Revenue Authority Recruiting: Treasury Officer – May 2017


In line with our corporate priorities aimed at ensuring optimization of revenue collection and increased tax compliance on the one hand and the need to effectively manage the numerous challenges and opportunities in the fast changing business environment on the other, we are seeking highly motivated, result-oriented and well-qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following vacancies:

TREASURY OFFICER (GRADE ZRA07) (03)

Reporting directly to the Senior Treasury Officer, you will be responsible for receiving the correct tax revenue from taxpayers and issuance of receipts and account for all monies receipted.

MAIN DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To receive revenue from taxpayers and issuance of receipts.
  • To receipt RTGS payments.
  • To ensure that revenue collections for the day agree with reports generated from the cash office system.
  • To prepare banking slips by tax type in readiness for banking and submission of cheques and cash to the supervisor for checking.
  • To adhere to receipting procedures by checking all cheques brought by taxpayers to ensure that the cheques are valid and payable to the Authority and account for all monies received.
  • To ensure that all copies of receipts issued are properly filed for easy reference.
  • To capture data from source documents (Deposit Slips, Revenue Cash Books, Deposits/Refunds returns) into appropriate fields on SAP system.
  • To capture data manually from Bank Statements when electronic upload is not possible (where reasonably practical).
  • To carry out bank reconciliations for specified/assigned bank accounts.
  • To deliver letters for Treasury to various banks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade Twelve School Certificate or General Certificate of Education (GCE).
  • Diploma in Accountancy/Management Accounting/Business Management/Business Administration/Banking and Finance or ZICA Licentiate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy/Banking and Finance/Business Administration or full professional qualification such as ZICA, ACCA or CIMA will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of two years work experience in Treasury/Financial Accounting/Cashiering.
