Zambia Sugar Plc is the group’s second largest sugar producer following a major agricultural and factory expansion project completed in 2009, which increased total annual sugar production capacity from around 200 000 tons to 450 000 tons. The company is listed on the Lusaka Stock Exchange with 82% of shares held by the Illovo group and the balance by institutional and private investors. As the country’s leading sugar producer, located in the south-western region of the country alongside the Kafue River, it cultivates sugarcane and manufactures Vitamin A-enriched raw and refined sugar under the White spoon brand name for local consumer markets and industrial customers. With increased sugar availability following the expansion project, sales to preferential markets in the EU and into surrounding African countries have risen significantly. The company invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position:

Responsibilities

• To plan, coordinate and provide medical services to community to the acceptable company standards for the well-being of employees and their families
• To carry out diagnostic, medical procedures and follow up services on sick persons
• To our surgical,obstetrics and gynecological care
• To conduct pre employment, periodic and exit medical examinations
• To assist in administration and controlling activities of the peripheral clinics
• To provide professional advice and service to line departments
• To organise refresher courses, symposia and and seminars for medical staff
• To coach nurses and clinical officers on case management
• To assist in the preparation and controlling the sectional budget
• To carry out workmen’s compensation assessment for sick or injured employees

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBcHB)
• Post graduate Diploma in Healthy Occupation Or MMed
• Four years of work experience in a busy hospital
• Must have a valid practicing license
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Patient and innovative
• Good judgement and decisiveness
• Mature disposition
