Job Title: Maltings Manager

Responsibilities

• To manage and coordinate the Maltings (People, Plant, Process and Systems) in order to achieve the required standard of malt quality and output in the most efficient and effective manner
• Translate and implement Maltings business strategies through the implementation of technical strategies and improvement initiatives
• Manage Maltings plant processes and systems in order to achieve the required standard of product quality in the most efficient manner
• Optimise process capability and maintenance integrity
• Lead and drive Sustainable Development targets by managing waste and reducing utility usages
• Manage financial performance through the implementation of financial controls and ensuring compliance to Zero Based Budgeting
• Facilitate team problem solving and decision making
• Manage human resources by implementing relevant people practices to ensure a healthy employee relations climate
• Manage safety, housekeeping and environmental standards
• Implement, entrench and improve the use and effectiveness of the Voyager Plant Optimisation (VPO) in all pillars (namely, Safety, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, People, Management and Environmental)

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Food Technology, Process Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology or equivalent with a maltings or Brewing qualification
• 3 – 5 Years experience in Malting or Brewing Industry or related field at senior line management
• Good understanding of the principles and practices of Manufacturing Excellence
• Understanding of process control with a Malting or Manufacturing process environment
• Proven leadership ability
• Good understanding of Asset Care principles and good practice
• Data analysis and interpretation skills
