The USAID systems for better health (SBH) in Zambia works closely with the Zambian Ministry of Health (MOH) at the national, provincial, and district levels to strengthen skills and systems for planning, management, and delivery of high-impact health services and with communities to promote increased use of public health services.
Abt Associates seeks a qualified Grants Manager to support the International Health Division in Zambia.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the SBH grants program and provide leadership in the overall financial and contractual management of grant recipients for the systems for better health project
  • Manage and provide assistance for grantees related to a broad range of programmatic, financial and administrative needs for effective SBH grants program
  • Primary resource on contract rules and regulations and financial management of grants
  • Will work with governmental, non-governmental, and community-based and faith based organizations and entities
  • Ensure that the grant program exercises prudent management over funds issued in form of grants
  • This position will also engage and build the capacity of other project technical personnel to oversee grant recipient performance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business administration and/or Finance
  • 8 years financial, contract and/or accounting related experience that includes budget preparation, cost analysis and financial management
  • Strong knowledge of USAID and PEPFAR rules and procedures required
  • Experience in financial and contractual management of USAID contracts, grants and contract agreements
  • Experience working with MoH and CBOs in urban and rural settings
