Job Description

The job will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Reconciliation of Inter Company Transactions with statements and general ledger on a monthly basis.
  • Raising of payment vouchers and ensuring that Inter Company and foreign supplier payments are done on time.
  • Booking of approved invoices in SAP.
  • Ensuring that all payments are timely posted and matched within 5 days from date of payment.
  • Ensuring that all the accounts with debit balances are cleared every month by ensuring that invoices are receipted.
  • Ensuring timely filling of VAT returns and that payments are made within statutory deadlines.
  • Monthly reconciliation of VAT balances/ accounts with purchases, sales and general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with all ZRA VAT requirements such as reverse charge and that all the documents required for VAT on export sales are submitted within 1 month following the end of the month in which the sales occurred.
  • Submission of ERB returns and payments in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that monthly and quarterly priority accounting controls are done timely.
  • Regular account analysis and ensuring timely payments.
  • Undertake other assignments from Chief Accountant as delegated.

Candidate profile

Minimum desirable level of education for this job are:-

  • Grade twelve (12) GCE ‘0’ Level Certificate plus either
  • Natech, Diploma in Accounting or equivalent intermediate professional qualifications with ACCA or CIMAlevel two.
  • Must have skills in account payables
  • Must be conversant with spread sheets and SAP Accounting package.
  • Must have good interpersonal communications skills.
