Job Title: Project Manager (Resilience Building)

Commencement Date: ASAP
Purpose of the position
ActionAid International Zimbabwe (AAIZ) leads a Consortium that includes the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), Afrosoft Holdings (Private) Limited, Africa Breeding Services (ABS) Private Limited and Zimbabwe Environment Lawyers Association (ZELA) for the implementation of resilience building initiatives in Binga, Kariba and Mbire Districts. The Project is expected to contribute to increased capacities of communities to protect development gains and improve their well-being in the face of shocks and stresses. The project will also improve the absorptive, adaptive and transformative capacities of communities at risk in the 3 districts.
Key performance areas

The Project Manager will oversee the implementation of innovative and sustainable responses that will be rolled out in close partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Mechanization and Irrigation Development and other district stakeholders. He/she will also manage the Consortium Implementing Team, relate with donors, provide management oversight for the project’s narrative and financial reporting and be overall in charge of the project’s narrative and financial reporting.

Education/qualifications, experience and competencies

The candidate should have at least 10 years’ relevant experience in the management of related projects, and should be a holder of an Advanced University degree in rural development, agricultural economics, agricultural extension, agribusiness or a related field.
Other competencies

Demonstrated commitment to working with AAIZ target groups i.e. people living in poverty and marginalized groups at community and national levels; The candidate should be a self-driven and dynamic professional to manage this project; Good organizational and planning skills including program/projects budget tracking in line with contractual obligations; Traceable experience managing budgets of up to USD5 million dollars; Previous experience managing DFID and EU grants desirable.
