ALTERNATIVES TO CHARCOAL- ZAMBIA
The USAID-funded Alternatives to Charcoal (A2C) Activity in Zambia, implemented by Tetra Tech International Development (http://www.tetratech.com/intdev) is currently accepting expressions of interest for qualified candidates to fill various positions. This position will be located in the main office in Lusaka. The purpose of USAID A2C is to reduce charcoal energy consumption in Zambia and catalyze an increase in the use of private sector-led low emissions charcoal alternative technologies and/or fuels in order to reduce deforestation directly attributed to charcoal production.
Tetra Tech seeks experienced candidates for the following positions:
Administrative Assistant (1 Post)
Working under the direction of the Administrative Manager, the Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and logistical, support for the A2C Activity, ensuring efficient operations of A2C activities in compliance with USAID and Tetra Tech policies and practices. The Administrative Assistant will provide office management support and logistical support.
Qualifications
- University degree in a related field (relevant experience may substitute).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an equivalent position providing administrative support to a USAID-funded or other international donor-funded projects.
- Demonstrated capacity to provide logistical and administrative support to donor-funded programs. Previous USAID experience strongly preferred.

Assistant Accountant (1 Post)
Working under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the Assistant Accountant will carry out professional accounting and finance-related duties in support of the execution of the USAID-funded A2C Activity in accordance with USAID and Tetra Tech policies and practices with respect to administration of finances.
The assistant accountant will conduct financial accounting systems of the project, including support in the preparation of projections, cash requirements and requests for funds, manage the cash flow and keep track of expenses. She/ he will support and review the process travel advances and expense reporting
Qualifications:
- University degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or other relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in accounting or equivalent position. Experience working in a similar position for an international organization is preferred.
- Knowledge of QuickBooks is required.

General Qualifications:
- Must be computer literate (in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for colleagues.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team. Must also be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Professional fluency in English is required.
