VACANCY – SPECIAL PROJECT MANAGER – LIUWA

African Parks Zambia is looking for a Special Project Manager. He/she will be based at Kalabo, Western Province, and reporting to the Park Manager. This is a complex and diverse position, requiring a “tech savvy”, adaptable person.

Job purpose

The primary purpose of this role will be to provide both operational and strategic support to the PMU, specifically the FOM and Park Manager, to achieve park specific goals, with a high focus on technology management and administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the technology and communications infrastructure, i.e. SMART Data management, Geosuite, Cyber track, WCPP database, DAS, VSAT.
  • Support law enforcement and conservation objectives.
  • Providing administrative and logistical support for all conservation initiatives in the park, including mapping exercises, annual aerial census, wildlife introduction, EIA’s.
  • Assisting the Park Manager and FOM with administrative duties like donor report writing, procurement, logistical support, including Health & Safety, travel and hospitality arrangements, film crews/photographers.
  • Implement special projects according to the LPNP business plan.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant undergraduate degree. 5 to 8 years working experience. 3 years’ experience working in similar environments and roles.
  • Experience with donor grant management, proposals and reporting. Knowledge of SMART & GIS software experience.
  • Experience in working in multi-cultural environments.
  • Excellent computer/technology skills i.e. MS Office, social media, websites.
  • Strong communication, presentation, commercial and financial management skills.
  • Strong project management, analytical and Stakeholder relationship management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player, results-oriented, highly resilient and adaptable.
