Africare Zimbabwe Job Recruitment: Commodity Manager


Duties

  • Advise Amalima Project on timing and terms of call forwards for distribution commodity, in consultation with World Vision;
  •  In collaboration with the Government of Zimbabwe, inspect commodity upon arrival at Durban Port and oversee the disposal of any commodity that is unfit for use;
  •  Supervise contractor to transport commodity from Durban Port to ORAP warehouses in Plumtree and Gwanda;
  •  Develop oversight systems for commodity warehousing, inventory management, transport, and dispatch, in conjunction with Amalima Project;
  •  Review and finalize Commodity Tracking System (CTS) reports on a monthly basis;
  •  Consolidate commodity reports on a monthly basis;
  •  Review Commodity Status Reports (CSRs), Recipient Status Reports (RSRs), Loss Summary Reports (LSRs), and Damaged or Misused Commodity Reports (DMCRs), and advise on the preparation of Quarterly Web-Interfaced Commodity Reporting (QWICR) reports;
  •  Conduct spot checks of warehouses and distribution sites;
  •  Develop management information systems to register direct distribution beneficiaries, verify qualified beneficiaries at distribution points, and track commodity and beneficiary data, in coordination with program monitoring and evaluation system and with IMC;
  •  Provide technical assistance to Amalima Project and ORAP on commodity management as required, including input into the Operational Plan.
  •  Compilation of Africare internal periodic reports.
Qualifications and experience
  •  At least a bachelor’s degree in Logistics.
  •  At least five (5) years’ experience in commodity management.
  •  Knowledge and experience on guidelines in the implementation of USAID food aid programs.
  •  Practical experience on importation of US sourced commodities will be a distinct advantage.
