Job Overview

The HR Officer will assist the HR Manager to provide oversight and technical guidance in the areas of recruitment, benefits and welfare administration, employee relations, policies, and procedures;

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with all staff to ensure that HR policies/procedures are being implemented properly and consistently in the branches
  • Coordinate the effective dispensation of grievance and disciplinary matters
  • Maintain a tracker to ensure that all Trainee Officer Assessments and Annual Performance Appraisals for all staff are conducted on time and in line with AMZ policies and guidelines.
  • Monitor the Physical and Electronic filing system in HR and conduct periodic checks to ensure all staff files are kept up to date with required documentation and that documentation is audit ready at all times.
  • Ensure that payroll validation process is conducted thoroughly and on time on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure that the electronic staff timesheet system in leave day tracking, payroll processing, and other related activities is adhered to by all staff and ensure timely recording and approval of timesheets
  • Ensure staff recruitment is done on time and as per plan
  • Ensure effective orientation or onboarding of new staff
  • Support the HR Manager to ensure company compliance with all existing AMZ, governmental and Zambia Labor Law Legislation such as the Employment Act, Minimum Wages and Conditions of Employment and Industrial and Labour Relations Act

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree or Diploma in HR Management, Public or Business Administration
  • ZIHRM CPD Level 1 Courses are an added advantage
  • At least two years’ work experience in a similar role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in the use of any HRIS is an added advantage

SKILLS

  • Good inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Analytical, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Good report writing and oral presentation skills.
