Airtel Zambia Recruiting: MPBN Senior Engineer

Responsibilities

• Responsible for applying ISP Design and Backbone Routing principles and procedures to design MPBN and other IP networks
• The role holder will also operate, troubleshoot and resolve issues that may from time to time arise in Airtel IP networks while ensuring that best practices are followed and timely reporting on performance is carried out by the managed services partners
• Co-ordinate with the OPCo’s technical & business teams for IP interworking and Security
  Perform various periodic audits such as configurations, statistic checks, Security Processes as per Security Policy, approve, validate and check Access Control, Configuration Control, and Networking Zoning etc. to ensure MS/MC is delivering well
• Evaluate Architecture of IP infrastructure including connectivities with 3PP, IN , CS & PS Core, ISP, GRX and RIM links and suggest changes for 100% compliance to Security Policy
• Evaluate new features needed in Securing IP Network
• Check & monitor various MS/MC deliverables such as processes, KPIs, Operation Assurance and correct them
• Monitoring timely Planning, deployment & roll-out IP Nodes such as MPBN infra, IDS, Security Firewalls, VPN Concentrators, Bandwidths etc. along with ISP and MPLS peering across the Regional OpCos as part of Business Continuity
• Help/monitor Performance, Operations in OpCos and act as a bridge between OpCo & Group for timely escalations
• Ensure proper Quality Assurance is done on complete IP infrastructure
• Implement network redundancy processes to avoid single point of failure for MPBN, ISP/MPLS and other bandwidths thus ensuring maximum uptime and delivery of KPIs as per agreements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering
• Able to operate in a performance driven organization
• Should have led technical function of a similar scale
• Relevant Experience
• Seven – Nine years’ experience with concentrated experience of 6-8 years in GSM telecom industry with hands-on in IP Network domain and specific to Ericsson and Huawei All IP Core, Data and their MPBN networks,
  ISO 27001 deep knowledge or equivalent (CISSP)
• Strong project management skills
