Overview:
The SLTS Program Manager will assist in the planning, coordination, development and oversight of intervention implementation and new district and provincial level surveillance platforms to monitor the progress of School Led Total Sanitation and Sanitation Marketing. This position will liaise with stakeholders from the donor organization, key actors within provincial and central channels of MLGH and MOE, sub-district Environmental Health Technicians (EHTs) and head teachers, traditional leaders, DEBs and District RWSS Focal Point Persons, trained stone masons, community volunteers and Akros senior management to facilitate program objectives and optimize resource flow.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree (required) or Masters degree (preferred) in relevant field
- 5+ years experience managing small to medium-sized teams in developing countries
- Ability to lead in a multicultural environment and motivate other staff to excel
- Self-starter who will thrive through exemplifying ownership and initiative
- Able to provide examples of previous successes in monitoring and evaluation
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Excellent quantitative and critical thinking skills
- Excellent skills in Excel, Word, Powerpoint
- Candidate should be highly productive and internally motivated
- Candidate should work well against complex and challenging delivery schedules
- Candidate should be culturally adaptable and sensitive
- Experience in WASH-related field a plus

Responsibilities:
- Develop collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders
- Assist with design and implementation of developing and gaining approval for logframe, PMP and other strategic contract mechanisms with donor and government agencies.
- Closely manage sub-contracts to achieve deliverables.
- Supervise and monitor STLS and SanMark efforts amongst a core team of surveillance officers; maintain responsibility and clear strategies for each officer to achieve contractual requirements and program objectives.
- Coordinate trainings and supervision efforts within districts
- Attend SLTS and Sanitation Marketing-related technical working groups at province and central levels
- Assist with indicator development, research framework and impact assessments as necessary.
- Ensure project activities are sufficient to achieve proposed outcomes; develop and validate alternate strategies if not.
- Participate in SLTS and Sanitation Marketing-related advocacy events as necessary.
- Ensure good coordination between SLTS and Sanitation Marketing efforts with other implementation efforts within the Akros WASH portfolio
- Ensure program efforts are aligned to approved budgets
- Monitor data through routine monitoring to identify challenges and revise programmatic approaches to meet goals
