JSI implements the five-year USAID DISCOVER-Health project to support the Ministry of Health (MOH) in the provision of quality health services and products. The project’s aim is to improve the lives of Zambians by ensuring equitable access to and use of high-quality HIV, maternal new-born and child health (MNCH), family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) services and products at the district and community levels. The project utilizes and sustains a health model that maximizes the relative strengths of the public and private sectors to deliver health products and services that reach all beneficiaries and consumer markets.
JSI is recruiting for the following position:
Position Title: ART/TB Nurse (x4)
Position Type: Full Time
Location: Chingola (1); Solwezi (1); Kitwe (1); Kasama (1)
Reports to: Hub Manager
Job Purpose:
The ART/TB Nurse will work with the USAID DISCOVER Health clinical team and the Ministry of Health (MOH) staff at points of service to ensure quality care for patients in the ART/TB program under the project. The ART/TB Nurse is responsible for but not limited to the following roles/responsibilities in the ART workspace/ Clinic:
- Preparing and making ready the ART clinic
- Pulling out files of patients listed in the Appointment Book
- Preparation of required registers and Smart Care Forms / Tablets
Arrange for Smooth Patient Flow - Registration
- Triage
- Ensuring Vital Signs are done on patients
- Dispensing and Summarizing the consumption of ARVs
- Conducting Phlebotomy on patients as requested by the clinician
- Updating the ART appointment book and initiating the tracking of patients who miss clinical and pharmacy appointments
- This position will entail technical and programmatic leadership for planning, managing, and reporting on all supply chain management activities at the facility.
Qualifications:
- ZRM, ZRN, ZEM or ZEN with at least 2 years working experience in the ART/TB services provision or PMTCT
- ART/TB oriented training
- Trained and certified as ART/TB service provider
- Excellent Oral & written English Communications skill required
- Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel extensively to project sites to provide services
