Nkana Water and Sewerage Company is a Commercial Water Utility Company providing quality Water and Sanitation Services to its customers in Kitwe, Kalulushi, and Chambishi. In its quest to improve service delivery, the Company seeks to employ suitable, highly motivated and goal oriented professionals to fill the following vacancies:

ARTISAN ELECTRICAL (X1)

Duration: One (1) Year Fixed Term Contract

Job Purpose

To carry out all plant electrical repair maintenance works and planned maintenance activities in order to ensure effective equipment reliability and productive plant operations.

Job Accountabilities

  1. To supervise and attend to all corrective and breakdown maintenance activities on process equipment and related accessories to sustain the process and enhance productivity.
  2. To carry out electrical planned maintenance activities on plant process equipment and related accessories according to schedule and as assigned by supervisor.
  3. To, whenever applicable, ensure all PM checklists, Breakdown Reports, Job Cards, and Maintenance Work Orders are adequately completed and submitted to the Supervisor.
  4. To ensure good house-keeping of equipment, tools, and workplaces at all times.
  5. To initiate the requisition of spares and other material requirements whenever the need arises or as instructed by the supervisor.
  6. To uphold effective storage and application of drawn materials from the stores for Planned Maintenance works as well as Breakdown and repair works.
  7. To keep safe custody of tools and equipment, and ensure the right usage is upheld at all times.
  8. To ensure all parts and components that are removed or replaced on any equipment is either safely kept or is discarded correctly as recommended by superiors.
  9. To comply with good safety and occupational health norms at all times in work places as stipulated by company SHEQ policy.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least six (6) credits
  • Advanced Certificate /Craft Certificate in Electrical
  • At least two years’ work experience

  • Computer literate in MS Word, MS-Excel, MS-Project, MS-PowerPoint, and Maintenance Management System
