Nkana Water and Sewerage Company is a Commercial Water Utility Company providing quality Water and Sanitation Services to its customers in Kitwe, Kalulushi, and Chambishi. In its quest to improve service delivery, the Company seeks to employ suitable, highly motivated and goal oriented professionals to fill the following vacancies:

ARTISAN FITTER (x1)

Duration: One (1) Year Fixed Term Contract

Job Purpose

To carry out all mechanical repair maintenance works and planned maintenance activities in order to ensure effective equipment reliability and productive plant operations.

Job Accountabilities

  1. To carry out corrective and breakdown mechanical works on process equipment and related accessories as assigned by supervisor.
  2. To carry out planned mechanical maintenance activities on plant process equipment and related accessories as scheduled and as assigned by supervisor.
  3. To uphold effective storage and application of drawn materials from the stores for Planned Maintenance, Breakdown and repair works.
  4. To ensure good house-keeping of equipment, tools, and workplaces at all times.
  5. To initiate the requisition of spares and other material requirements whenever the need arises or as instructed by the supervisor.
  6. To, whenever applicable, ensure all PM checklists, Breakdown Reports, Job Cards, and Maintenance Work Orders are adequately completed and submitted to Supervisor.
  7. To comply with good safety and occupational health norms at all times in work places as stipulated by company SHEQ Policy.
  8. To ensure all parts and components that are removed or replaced on any equipment is either safely kept or is discarded correctly as recommended by superiors.
  9. To operate plant workshop machinery for job implementation purposes as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least six (6) credits
  • Diploma/Certificate In Mechanical or Plant Fitting
  • At least two years’ work experience

  • Computer literate in MS Word, MS-Excel, MS-Project, MS-PowerPoint, and Maintenance Management System
