Assistant ICT Officer – LAN Maintainer: Zambia Revenue Authority


In line with our corporate priorities aimed to ensure optimization of revenue collection and increased tax compliance on the one hand and the need to effectively manage the numerous challenges and opportunities in the fast-changing business environment on the other, we are seeking highly motivated, result-oriented, qualified and adequately experienced professionals to fill the following vacancies in Zambia Revenue Authority.

ASSISTANT ICT OFFICER-LAN MAINTAINER ZRA07 (1 POSITION)

Reporting directly to the ICT Officer – Local Area Network, the job holder will be responsible for effectively supporting the ZRA business through the provision of timely, cost-effective, efficient and professional I. T. networking services through consultation, agreements, and research, with customers and service providers by developing and implementing l.T. strategies, standards and procedures for the purpose of achieving corporate goals.

MAIN DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure data communication cables and points are properly functioning.
  • Ensure data communication cables and points are properly installed, terminated and labeled.
  • Ensure that data communication trunking systems are properly installed.
  • To log network incidences and provide the first-level response to network equipment failure, reported by monitoring tools and users.
  • Collect data from security and performance monitoring tools and produces daily reports.
  • Maintain data communication cables, trunking, and other related accessories.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing data communication cables, points, trunking, and other related accessories.
  • Preventative maintenance of networking equipment, which includes switches, routers, wireless access points, etc.
  • Install, terminate and label data communication cables.
  • Install, terminate and label data communication trunking systems.
  • Install, terminate and label patch panels and network switches.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or General
  • Certificate of Education or Equivalent
  • Minimum of a Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent
  • At least two years’ experience in the Information and Communication Technology profession.
