AUDITIONS FOR MUSICIANS – USAID LET’S READ

Let’s Read is a project funded by USAID and aims to improve literacy levels for children in kindergarten and Grades 1-3 in Zambian GRZ and community schools in five (5) provinces using a combination of print,  audio and video teaching and learning materials in one of the following local languages: Chitonga, Ichibemba, Silozi, Lunda, Kikaonde, Luvale and Chinyanja. The project is developing a number of Interactive Audio Instruction (IAI) programmes and stories, as well as instructional materials for use by teachers and students and is therefore looking for local talent for musicians. Individuals and groups are encouraged to apply.

Scope of Work:

  • Work with production team to develop music, songs, jingles and sound effects in the seven local languages
  • Compose music, songs, jingles and sound effects to meet educational objectives
  • Provide sound tracks/sound effects and/or audio content in digital formats
  • Work under a contract (set deadlines) to deliver final versions of music, songs, jingles and sound effects
  • Use a combination of music instruments to produce final products
  • Prior experience in production of educational materials will be an added advantage
  • Recordings will take place in Lusaka.

To apply, please provide recorded samples of previous work that match the above descriptions along with a current resume outlining similar work experience. Music compositions for early grades or other educational programmes preferred. Selected musician will be required to work in Lusaka on contract terms to offered by the USAID lets read project.

Deadline for application and submission is 16.00, March 20, 2020. Late submissions will not be considered.
