Logistics Operations Manager
The Role
To manage the warehouse and freight operations in a Country
To be the point of contact for Logistics Operations in the territory with the view to coordinate Inventory, Freight & Warehousing activities
Duties and Responsibilities

Key Interactions:
- Ensure that Sandvik Policies and Procedures are adhered to, and provide proactive and visible safety leadership in all daily activities
- Develop, maintain and ensure adherence to all procedures
- Optimise/improve the operational efficiency and performance in the logistics operations
- Manage the infrastructure integrity and planning
- Continuously improve and manage the controls to limit shrinkage risk
- Continuously improve and manage the process flows through the warehouses
- Support the Operational performance team in executing continuous improvement projects
- Ensure standardisation to global processes & procedures as required
- Financial
- Manage the operational budgets for the Warehouses and functions
- Plan, manage and forecast operational expenses
- Ensure warehouse processes are maintained and managed to limit financial risks, including POD handling, goods returns, credit, receiving & despatch processes
- Lead and participate in cost reduction initiatives in conjunction with Indirect Purchasing function
- People management
- Logistics function integration
- Ensure freight, warehouse & inventory processes are managed in the supply chain
Your profile
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Warehousing/Distribution/Supply Chain environment
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar managerial position
- Tertiary education will be a distinct advantage
- Experience managing internal and/or external customer service would be desired
- Experience in managing people and teams
