Position: ARTISAN—ELECTRICAL(BOZ3)(1 POST)

Job Purpose

Install, repair and maintain electrical fixtures, equipment, and wiring at office premises, commercial and residential properties.
Main Accountabilities
Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in electrical equipment, wiring, and fixtures; replaces and repairs malfunctioning motors, switches, wiring, and fixtures and other electrical equipment.
Install and connect electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to specifications to ensure that electrical equipment is installed correctly.
Operate various power tools to splice wires, solder connections, cut and drill wiring holes for fixtures and to attach and anchor fixtures and conduit: operates various meters to test voltage, amperage and continuity of electrical to do works that are assigned.
Complete work orders for each project by listing the amount of time and materials used for supervisors to plan for the works as well as prepare materials.
Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, fixtures, wiring, pumps and motors to reduce break downs and prolong the lifespan of equipment.

Qualifications/Experience

Grade 12 School Certificate with five (5)0 Levels (Credit or better)
Electrical Craft Certificate or equivalent with 3 years relevant experience
Key Knowledge & Attributes
Electrical wiring and safety

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

Bank of Zambia Conditions of Service will apply. Please note that all the positions are on Fixed Term Contract of Employment for three years and renewable subject to good performance.
