Clerk – Payment Systems Relations (HO)

Grade: BOZ 3

Job Purpose

To process to RTGS transactions, manage collateral and monitor settlement accounts on RTGS system

Main Accountabilities

  • Record and update all securities lodged as collateral by each bank on a daily basis to the collateral register in order to ensure compliance and conformity to the ZECH rules
  • Compute commercial banks penalty charges on shortfalls on core liquid assets, Kwach Statutory Reserve and Foreign Statutory Reserve Rations correctly
  • Record and update the daily net clearing positions for each member bank on a monthly basis
  • Process both outgoing and incoming funds transfer instructions for government, staff and others via the RTGS for settlement to various commercial banks
  • Draft letters to commercial banks to confirm account balances half yearly and respond to all audit queries
  • Prepare letters to commercial banks advising on the revision of collateral requirements on a monthly basis

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Banking and Finance; Accountancy; Business Administration, ATD/AAT/NaTech, or equivalent with 1 year relevant experience
  • Grade 12 school certificate with five (5) ‘O’ Levels (Credit or better, including English and Mathematics)

Key knowledge and Attributes

  • Experience in Banking Curreny and Payment systems in a reputable commercial bank

 

  • Knowledge in modern banking computer packages

Bank of Zambia Conditions of service will apply. Please note that all positions are on a Fixed Term Contract of Employment for three(3) years and renewable subject to good performance
