Job Title: Finance Officer

 Overall Job Purpose

To support the Finance department by assisting in the accounting and reconciliation functions.

Key Accountabilities Accountability: Reconciliations  30%
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis as required and in conformity with Group Guidelines and the General Ledger Control Framework (GLCF)
• Reconcile premium receipts with KIT and BBZ on a monthly basis
• Maintain the reconciliations listing in terms of the GLCF and obtain the Finance Manager & Chief Financial Officer CFO) sign off of the listing, to ensure compliance with the GLCF.
• Analyse selected income statement accounts so as to give breakdown accounts and to establish trends and identify cost savings.

Accountability: Management Accounting 40%

• Collect invoices relating to the monthly accruals and provisions, record the information in a journal and submit to the Finance Manager for Approval and post the journals on SAP.
• Prepare correction journals as and when queries are raised on misallocation of costs, premiums, fixed assets and liabilities and post the journals.
• Receive and record all Fixed Assets in the Asset Register and ensure all Assets are coded.
• Ensure all company assets are insured

Accountability: Supplier Payment 20%

• Check information provided i.e. client details are correct and accurate.
• Ensure that all payment requests are signed off by appropriate mandated officials by referring to paper mandates.
• Review payment documentation to ensure compliance with VAT requirements and raise the payments.
•  Investigate and resolve any payment disputes with customers i.e external and internal suppliers

Accountability: Regulatory 10%

• Prepare and submit all monthly statutory returns to ZRA and NAPSA and obtain all necessary Clearance Certificates.

Essential/Basic Qualifications

 Education and Experience Required

• Diploma in Accountancy or studying for a professional accountancy qualification e.g ACCA 2, CIMA Managerial
• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent with 5 credits (including Maths and English)
• A minimum of 2 years experience in the accounting function

Preferred Qualifications
