Lumwana Mine, Solwezi, Zambia.

Reporting to: Superintendent – Safety Compliance

Lumwana Mining Company Limited (LMC), a copper mining company owned by Barrick Gold Corporation is situated in the North Western region of Zambia, some 300 km west of the Zambian Copperbelt and 95 km south-west of the provincial capital of Solwezi. The mine is a multi-pit, multi-staged operation mining approximately 100MT of ore and waste per annum and producing copper concentrates containing an average of 120,000 tonnes of copper metal per year over a twenty (20) year mine life, making Lumwana the largest single open cut copper mine in Africa. The Company is now looking for an experienced and qualified individual to be considered for the position of Administration Clerk.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Superintendent – Safety Compliance, you will ensure maximum operational performance is achieved in a safe and cost effective manner while ensuring compliance with relevant procedure, policies, legal requirements and consent conditions. You will also assist with the development of SWI’s, Produce detailed and comprehensive Work Packs. Your duties will include but not limited to the following:

Responsibilities

  • Carry out administrative functions commensurate with the role.
  • Daily collection, collating, history entry and filing of Mechanical and Electrical work orders.
  • Sending the completed work order forms to supervision for closure.
  • Daily filing of work orders and other documentation.
  • Collection, collation and filing of Permits to Work and JSAs.
  • Management of Controlled Documents for the Field Staff
  • Other data entry into Pronto  as required or any other Enterprise Resource Packaging
  • Enter time sheets into Oracle and maintain reports.
  • Manage leave and sick leave forms including obtaining all approvals, keeping accurate records and reporting as required.
  • Maintain accurate invoice records
  • Providing an efficient and effective in-house data entry service for key stakeholders.
  • Implement and maintain safe work procedures and promote high safety and health awareness.   Promote and comply with the LMC Occupational Health & Safety Policy.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Minimum Cert level Technical Trades/ or Health & Safety fields qualification
  • At least 3years data entry and  trades skill  practical experience in the mining industry
  • Experience in the use of a recognized CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) preferably PRONTO
  • Must have good record keeping skills
  • Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications.
